Grants

The purpose of the association is to promote nonfiction literature as part of the culture and information infrastructure of Finnish society. To fulfil its purpose, the Association of Finnish Nonfiction Writers distributes over €2 million each year in grants to authors of nonfiction and textbooks, first-time nonfiction authors and critics.

The working and project grants awarded by the association are available to both members and non-members.

The grants distributed by the Association of Finnish Nonfiction Writers are financed out of funds channelled to it through the Finnish copyright organisation, Kopiosto. This organisation collects copyright fees and pays out funds to members for distribution as grants and awards.
